Hi Everyone,

Thanks to my buddy Dan I have made some progress on 275 since we last 'talked.' Hard to believe how time flies (when you have kids it goes faster). The car was painted in 2016 and then I didn't work on it until 2019. Due to the crappy paintjob - I decided to take her to an expert because I want 275 to be a show car when complete. He took a sander to the car and found a lot of things he wants to re-do - which basically entails stripping the car and then he's going to re-paint her right. Here are some photos.

I also found that my big tube exhaust manifold does not have the correct flange or flange thickness. The flange thickness is actually EXACTLY right to match up w/ the intake manifold, but the manufacturer welded bosses onto the flange making it 1/4" too thick. So when I filled up w/ coolant it was pouring out the bottom of the intake manifold because it wasn't clamped to the head. Live and learn!

Cheers
James

Such a bummer that the previous body shop didn't properly complete the work. Back in 2016, I made unannounced visit to the old shop (close to my home) after hearing that some additional paint work was recently completed. Found the car in the paint booth (along with storage boxes), with months of dust gathered on the car. Nothing had been done to the car for a long time.

Happy to see #275 is at a better shop. Looking forward to the continued progress.

It's hard to believe it's been over a year since I posted an update. My car is running stopping and steering and just about ready to ship to Alaska. Here are a few photos. If there is a way to post a video I can do that too.

Cheers
James

PS: Yes I moved to Alaska!

More progress photos. Albert at Infinite Worx did the paint and body and it came out amazing. Still a few things to button up but then she will be coming up to Alaska for me to finish all the installation.

Cheers

Thanks guys! I remember a long time ago Gerardo had a restored 66 he sold and it was blue with black interior and bright shiny chrome. It had incredible professional photographs. I thought to myself - I want my car to look like that someday!

You can see a big difference in Sora when photographed outside vs under artificial light. What a difference! I'm sure the camera settings and saturation settings have a lot to do with it too.

Cheers

Looking good!

The easiest way to post a video is to upload it to youtube and then post the link here.

Did I mention that my car lives in Anchorage now? She arrived recently. Runs, stops, and steers.

I've been making some serious progress. I got the tail lights re-chromed and rebuilt with new rubber and lenses. Firewall grommets and cardboard are done, headlights and front turn signals. Installed the antenna. Restored the heater box and ready to go back in. Put the side trim back on - looks awesome. I'm restoring and repainting the emblems and they will go back on tomorrow.

Putting rechromed goodies back onto a clean car is a blast!

Cheers
James
