Took a quick New Year's Day drive in my survivor 67.5-- dodging the rain showers...

Not as brave as Michael (lovely shot btw) but today I went for a quick drive before the rain storm this evening. Love the sound of twin-Mikuni carbs and shifting through the U20’s 5-speed!

It was sunny but cool in Virginia yesterday and Matt Mainor and I met up at Cars and Coffee Williamsburg to exercise our roadsters. It was fun to get the car back on the road even though I had to deal with a flat on the way to the event. Many folks were surprised to see two roadsters at once. I'm looking forward to getting our car out on the road more this year.

On Saturday I drove Sora to the shop.


Rob kindly shared his 1976 Vespa rally 200 with me and I had to snap some photos with Sora being similar in color:


I've only ridden a Vespa once and that was in 1998 in India. It was a rush!

Looks like it's come a long way... looking Good! Ya, my wife and I have had a few such adventures. We did a trip into the Cascades a few years back, and I plotted a route that was a bit off the beaten path... not realizing the final 15 miles or so was dirt road. The 4 wheelers that passed us as we poked along (comp suspension before the Bilsteins, and a 7quart oil pan hanging down) must have thought we were crazy. My black car was silver when we finally exited, and the showers that night were gritty. All just Roadster adventure!

4 miles on a dirt road?? I thought you wanted to run autocross’s not rallycross’s!

The event was at Apple Valley Speedway, built as a go kart track and still being used.

Well worth the time I will be spending cleaning up the car.

Quick drive in Sora before the rain today. Cold. A little wet. U20, 5-speeds and a pair of Solexes make it worthwhile!

Roadster Drive Today. Thursday. 3-16-23. 64 1500. Mi Si. 71 miles.
Finally, back in the driving seat for 2023. We have had the usual crumby PNW weather for the last 3 months.
Beautiful today. High 50's. Filtered sunshine.
A favorite short local drive SE in the Snoqualmie Valley to Mt Si in the Cascade Range foothills.
