The NAPA version is $22.94 per foot. Not sure if they sell it in single foot lengths or not. I'll have to check with them.Linda wrote:Here is link from NAPA for an interchange from the Gates hose:

Rock Auto has it for a good price. Locally, I have seen it at Advance Auto Parts in 3 foot sections - don't recall the price.

I'm sure someone else has figured this out, but if you're having a hard time removing the switches from your car (like the hazard switch, S Brake, any switch with the two little holes in the front), you can use a golf cleat remover.

The Gates fuel filler neck hose specs say you can use it for fuel.

Re: The Quick/Small/(Stupid?) Question Thread.
Hey all,
I took the Roadster out for a burn today and found that my throttle stuck a couple of times. I've gone through it and can't find where it could have been binding. Everything seems to be clear and running free.
Is there a common trouble point on the stock 1600 SU linkage that I should be looking for?

Re: The Quick/Small/(Stupid?) Question Thread.
searching the threads on changing out front shocks on my 1969 2000 roadster. i wonder if anyone could ballpark how long it should take. that is, if all goes well and no problems develop. i don't want to start on this and have to leave the car on jackstands, incase i can't finish in time for football practice with the little one tomorrow afternoon.
i did the easy ones on the back first.

Took me a half hour or so - and I swapped the sway bar for a comp unit at the same time.

i don't believe you can do the swap that fast. come up here and show me.
seriously, did you have air wrench or what? the rear shocks were very easy to swap.

Re: The Quick/Small/(Stupid?) Question Thread.
Sleepy, All going well, figure an hour for the shocks. Have a pair of vise grips handy if the shaft wants to spin can help. The nuts can be difficult to get off, very fine thread. A nutsplitter can be a great time saver.
The only thing that could cause a big problem is if the shocks are bigger than the hole in the control arm. What shocks did you buy?
Geoff, see if one of the throttle return springs fell off, happened to me, same symptoms. they go from the throttle arm down to the heat shield and clip in to a little hook, 1 per carburetor. also see if the clip that holds the throttle cable end into the metal rod (under the hood latch) is in place. I lost that clip too. Split shot fishing sinker will hold it if needed. PM if you need a better description.

Re: The Quick/Small/(Stupid?) Question Thread.
Yes, I have air tools, but I did not use them on that project. I jacked up the car, unbolted the lower A arm cross shafts, undid the shocks and dropped them out. Then I bolted it back together. Really doesn't take that long if the bolts are not seized or boogered up. If you want me to come show you, it will not be cheap. First class airfare, 5 star accommodations, limo service, etc. The bill to you will be quite high!sleepyzzz wrote:spl310 wrote:Took me a half hour or so - and I swapped the sway bar for a comp unit at the same time.

Re: The Quick/Small/(Stupid?) Question Thread.
I just dropped them out the bottom through the hole after the round plate was removed. Had to jack the suspension up and down once to get it to line up, but the only thing removed was the shock bolts and the round plate in the center of the lower control arm.
