I am very envious of your work......Did you anneal the aluminum with a torch?
I always wanted to try explosion forming...lol....my tig welding is also very poor...sometimes it looks OK and sometimes its all black.....
I did use a wood form to change the curve on my fender flairs that I have been working on slowly....but only the end of a 2x4....
One of the local hobby shops claims they have the ability to scan to make a file that controls their CNC wood carver.
I am thinking about having that done so I can make some final adjustments to my metal flairs.

spl310 thanks for your comment.
thanks also to notoptoy, if you feel it needs to be in a new thread that is fine by me.
Phil, I did sometimes use a torch to anneal and sometimes I would take the hotplates off my BBQ and sit the aluminium just over the rows of burners to get a more even approach.
Explosion forming sounds like fun, if not a little dangerous, you could really scare the snot out of a piece of metal.
Your metal flares look really cool.

Its an outdoor activity!!!.......Need some 25 mm plate to make a box and losely chain the lid down. You want the lid to be able to relieve the pressure without flying off. I have been told you can use propane.

Sounds so mean. Good thing it has the tires to go with it. I like that hood mod better than the others I've seen.
