Super looking car Teemu! Really came out nice! Have you seen any others in Finland? Must be remarkably rare there?

Great Job!

Thanks all! I know there are few in Finland but havent never seen one in person.

I am currently installing soft top as that is something that is still missing. Never done that before so lets see how that turn out to be...
After when soft top is done I hope all this needs is driving and I could work next winter mostly with my Karmann Ghia.

Started to wake up Datsun from winter hibernation. There is not much to do before driving season, just fixing some small detail. We still have snow on ground so there is still lots of time.

Question about soft top. Both side windows have quite bad wrinkles on them. Is there anything that can be done to those?

In the future, fold the top properly so that they don't get so wrinkled. Heat from a blow dryer will help smooth them out. You are missing a bunch of lift the dot connectors from that top.

A hair blow dryer like Sid suggested should not hurt anything if you are careful, but definitely don't use a heat gun!

Other ways to warm it up will work too (without applying too much heat).

Summer sun is the best thing- I realize that is months away for Finland.

Thanks need to try that hair dryer. Those wrinkles were actually there when I took it out of box but thought they would straighten out by itself. Top has been up whole winter.

I don't even own a top nor did I ever have mine up more than a half dozen times when I did, but that looks like it needs some adjustment to tighten it up more.

First drive for this season and car seems to work fine.

I am on the fence should I mount side trim. I have trims but I am missing decals and mounting parts.

I’m a big proponent of keeping the side trim. I just feel that it makes as much difference as a nice set of wheels does. The only cars that I think look good without the trim are the ones with big flares. Now, that’s just my opinion and only you can decide what looks good to you. You’re the only one that matters, unless your trying to sell it.

Teemu, it’s important to fold the top correctly when you store it so as not to get the creases in the corners. From what I see the top was just pushed down with the corner windows all deformed do to lack of being properly folded. I know there are people out there who have taken videos of how to fold them. You need to fold the corners to the center window without creases and then lower it into place.

With other than 'mature' soft top windows, warm weather (or a warm shop) is your friend, and the kinks and folds flatten naturally. With 'mature', discolored (brown/yellow), or hardened soft top windows, the best approach may be to have them replaced with fresh material. An experienced automotive upholstery shop will be able to replace and fuse the panels into place.

These wheels didn't have center caps and I didn't find any that would fit. So I printed these and looks pretty good.
