1967 1600 carburetors

I appreciate the help. One last question.

This is my engine number. R26858

According to this page, that means I have a 1967 since 26858 is greater than 18000 and less than 40000.

I just want to make sure I’m reading that right. I expected to see R16 26858. That’s my only confusion and I wanted to be sure before dropping a grand on the wrong parts.

These carbs are great sellers, so I am not concerned about my sales.
Anytime products like this, that are hand made, sometimes things are missed. People are not perfect.
In 20 years of carrying these carburetors I have only heard of one problem directly to me and now yours. That makes 2 times.
I know for a fact that Pam and Steve issue call tags and or labels for shipment for any returns, so there is no cost to the customer.
It would have been a quick turn around less than a week. I day from you to him, 1 day back 1 to 2 days to fix the problem that is 4 days.
I don't see what useful purpose was for you to say what you said that's all. It doesn't help and it is designed to hurt.

Steve offered to make it right, but by that time, the frustration of trying to reach him had taken it's toll. I should not have made my initial post, and want to publicly say I'm sorry to anyone offended or hurt by it. I guess a phone number that gets to Steve? Pat
