I am one shot in vacc's wise, but have spent a bit too long in the "while she is out, let's clean and tidy up" phase of my clutch job, so I am going to miss this years' event.
I have a streak going of "completed without breakdown", and rushing the re-install would just lead to worrying the whole time (what was that noise?) which is not a recipe for a good time. (especially when out of AAA range nearly the whole time)
I am sure I will regret it once I see pics posted.....
See ya on the road, Soon!

And on the other hand....
Roadster is not yet ready, but I have a loaner (non-Datsun, BOOO!), so will be along for all days.
See ya at the Rose Bowl!

I'm waiting on an oil pan gasket, and I still have some other things to finish on the roadster, so I'm out for this one. I'll be ready by the 23rd for the Solvang run.

The run was great, lots of straight bits (transit stages) in between twisty-bursts, but scenic views of both desert and Central Valley in spring varieties.
Some pics today, more tomorrow (rest of the field pics from the start) once they get transferred over from other device.
The organizers and another entrant in Z cars, (an auto-X prepped 240 and a FI'd 75 280, both from San Diego area)
(3) Jaguars: 66 XKE, early 70's coupe, and a mid 80's XJS.
Alfa Giulia (sp?) and a Sunbeam Tiger.
64 Barracuda and an 80's 911 came out for one day.
A 700 hp Hellcat!
And me in the loaner BMW E30/S52 convertible, which was a blast and much less sun exposure than running in the roadster. (I don't do top up on my roadster, ever) Turns out I had MUCH less ground clearance than the Z's, so the potholed roads made for interesting path and lower speeds until we got back onto the smooth stuff.
Joshua trees in bloom.
Morning mist.
Sweeping valleys in bloom.
Stopped to ponder the question: What is the proper performance tire for cattle crossings?
White Cows Matter.
(notice how he locked eyes, but didn't get up, as that would have been a "performance" and a % of the take would have to go to the agent and publicist)

Kinda backward, but here are the pics from the start at the Rose Bowl.
14 car in total, some just coming out for single days so they don't show in these pics.
