Re: $150 Laguna Seca Track Day 2/3!!!

Post by SLOroadster »

How did the track day go? Did the roadster do well? Were there others that came out?

I'd love to bring my car out and run with other roadsters, but Laguna Seca is just out for me. If a cheap day at Thunderhill or Sears can be put together, I'd be all over coming out to run assuming I have the $ to do so.

lots ZCG folks

I did a full throttle pass up T4 in last session…101.5db!
ZCG 2000 didn't get flagged at all

101 dB, interesting. I have heard from at least a half dozen people (mostly Porsche guys) who all say they are being very strict on the sound levels. Several of them were sent packing late last year with sound levels being 98dB or less.

When Ron and I ran there he got a warning at 100dB, and I almost did at 99.5dB. They very well could have gotten us switched since we were running pretty much nose to tail up the hill, and his exhaust dumps away from the sound shack where mine points backward.

It sounds like it was a fun day.

fun to watch - even 'backwards'
reminds me of 2001 (bentley was featured marque) - did 3 laps in my 49 MKVI - (5-up - with 2 kids in/on passenger seat - no belts - with pomp & circumstance blaring from the speakers) - swear I almost got airborne on corkscrew (Rainey Curve) Actually had Wayne Rainey's son in car - firtst time he had been on the piece of track named after his dad.
Amazing that a 52 year old 2+ton car could handle so well - have a photo coming out of turn 4 - looks like I was almost on 2 wheels.
fun times and fond memories - maybe next time (sigh)

What fun! The SR makes a nice growl too... Not as shrill as the U20 Mikunis, but a great sports car sound.
