If a member misrepresented them, then he should take them back and refund your money including shipping both ways. Not saying someone did anything on purpose, probably a honest mistake. If they weren't represented as roadster specific, well than your on your own and looks like dremmel time.

Fuel problem. My 1970 1600 is cutting out when I go up the hill to my driveway. It is a fairly steep climb but only about 150 yrds long. That used to be the only place it happened but yesterday when my gas tank fell below 1/4 of a tank it happened on several hills around town and I almost didn't get to the top of the hill at my house. Thoughts?

Anyone know the torque specs on some engine related parts? Im starting the reassembly of some of the motor and want to make sure everything is torqued to spec

I'll bet that you have a slight leak in the fuel line in the area of the fuel pump inlet if you have a mechanical pump, that is slowly getting worse, and will soon show up as a spot on the floor. At this point it is suction only. Another possible spot is the filter, and there may also be a coupling in the line below the firewall.johnscf wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2019 7:31 am Fuel problem. Thanks, printed out the entire section about the engine.
Also called Hoopers Rear Ends and were still at a standstill with the rear end. I bought a 4.38 truck pumpkin/ 3rd member and my LSD unit wouldnt fit inside of it, so I suggested using my Roadster pumpkin/ 3rd member that has a bad 3.9 and swapping in the 4.38 gear along with the LSD unit, but he still doesnt feel like it will work... why is this so difficult for me... im a bit furstrated as I was hoping to have the rear end wrapped up so I could focus on the motor once I have my head back.

so as this continues to be a headache, its time to ask again for help. Hoopers tried to take the 4.38 ring and pinion and install it into the Roadster sourced 3.9 pumpkin/ 3rd member and said that the bearing sizes are different. In other words, the 4.38 and my LSD unit wont fit together in the aluminum pumpkin/ 3rd member from the truck, and they wont fit into the Roadster pumpkin/ 3rd member.
If ANYONE can help shed some light on this I would be very grateful because Im now on month 7 of the Roadster on jackstands and this was supposed to be a ~3 month deal... I miss driving my car

Mechanical Fuel Pump:
First I'll say I have researched for a while before asking this question. I also fully understand the mechanics to each piece in pump and how they function.
That being said - Can someone here show how to install a new diaphragm in the fuel pump? A video of this would be great. I can remove the old diaphragm but I am having difficulties re-installing it to the lever. Oh and last thing I tried was to remove the pin to remove the lever... does not work. There is a metal ball on each end locking in the pin (even though some instructions say you can remove the pin with a punch - and I have even seen this done on a different style mechanical fuel pump on youtube)
Here are pics for reference on the type of pump and style diaphragm.
