67.5 2000 on ebay

Post by SLOroadster »

Steve,
Have a new 67.5 2000 for you. It is number SRL311-00215. The car is in very nice shape, not a solex car. It has many new parts on it, when I saw it for the first time it was a definete project, however it is now in great shape and I hope it goes to a good home. I don't know much of its history other than it sat in a garage for many years and nearly became a parts car for a 68 1600! I hope the guy gets $10k+ for it because it is worth it.

I'm surprised that more people haven't bid on the car. Almost 2000 people have looked at it, but only 3 people have bid. The car is in far better shape than #188 was and it went for almost $8000 if I remember correctly. Mike did a nice job on this car and it deserves to get a higher price. If I had the money I would buy it right now. The car is ready to go and needs nothing but a softtop and frame.

I think that Mike Young needs to work on his salesmanship a little. He makes no mention as to whether the car is numbers matching. Also, what is with the white hard top? Why not just put a good sof top on it? He restores the cars for living right? It's missing some pieces like the license trim and those front fender markers?

I am sure that Mike did a great job on the car but it seems "not quite there" yet.

67 2000 on Ebay

I agree that the soft top frame should be included. The license trims are exceedingly difficult to locate, so a missing one would not doom the car to not selling. A large number of the 67 2000s are missing that piece. As for the white hard top, some folks like those. Not my preference for color, but a hard top is a nice thing to have. With a limited production car (1000 cars qualifies for that level), numbers matching is nice to have, but should also not be a death sentence for getting a good price. There are some 67 2000s that came from the factory with the front markers. In the Brooklands book on roadsters, there is a nice photograph of a 67 2000 sporting the marker lights (front only) and the FairLady emblems on the side. It is dead stock. (not a US market car though....)

The car is nice. If I had the money, I would buy it and get rid of my cars....

Looks like he sold it off ebay. I checked the auction about an hour before it was due to close and it had been ended. Hope it went to a good home!
