New Member - Nice Story you might enjoy

Post by Cary »

Hi Everyone,

I'm brand new to the Forum, and happy to have found it.

My wife owns at 1967 1/2 Roadster. She owned it from 1984 to 1997 and drove the car to college. We sold it in 1997, but a few months ago we were able to repurchase it! Here is the story of a car returning to its owner.

https://carys-corvettes.blogspot.com/20 ... sy-67.html

We have started a "light" restoration and will be reaching out to this community to help locate some parts!

Thanks, Cary

Great story x2. Congratulations Cary & Nan, welcome. Easily the nicest car on the truck at delivery.

That is a great story. Dennis is (maybe soon to be was) a member of our local Datsun club. I have been to his house to help him with some things on the car. I remember that one of his concerns was the brake master, but it looked to be rebuildable to me. He didn't want to deal with that and time just kept going by. A super nice guy.

Wow. What a story. I wish I could find a car that I once owned and regretted later that I had sold.

Hi Steve, and everyone! Thank for your comments! Yes, Denny *DID* replace (or rebuild) the master cylinder. And it's working great. Everything he did for the 26 years that he owned it was first-rate -- we are so fortunate!
We are completely restoring the interior with carpet and upholstery kits that we purchased from Datsunparts.com I pulled the windshield this week to have the rubber replaced -- Denny gave us a complete set of the rubber parts and we will use them all.
How fun to be part of this great community!

Well, having worked the past couple days I'm a little late to this reunion party, but what a great story! And close to home, having grown up in Burien and all! I don't have to tell anyone here how special these cars are and what an influence and companion the Datsun has been. I'm so excited and happy to see yet another family who gets it, and I look forward to hearing more about the continued adventures. I've made that trip from California to Washington in an unknown car (a '69 1600 I bought on ebay that required a bit of assembly before hitting the road, and a little bit along the way!). Yes, they are reliable and simple, and seem to carry a "hey, whatever it takes, we'll get there" attitude. Congratulations on getting your love back and, as they say, Enjoy The Ride!
