Looking for rear leaf spring pads

Post by Acotyk »

With Datsunparts.com closed till January, is there another source for replacement slip pads for my 2000 Roadster rear leaf springs? Mine appears to have the .930" button diameter, and are roughly 2" square.
Tnx,
A.

I used this stuff on mine earlier in year when I disassembled and painted them. Got it from Speedway Motors. You get a lot more than you need for around ten bucks or so. Have not installed them yet though.

How is it applied to the spring?

I think I used contact cement. I applied it on each of the sides that make contact, so the “pads” will shift on each other.

I found a set of glide pads that I used. Check my post on FB with a picture there. Beattie Spring co. P/N MGS484.

I saw that. Looks like a good choice. I guess the surfaces should move effortlessly over each other as the spring compresses and rebounds.
What’s the material of those?

I've used the fire hose pieces (under the gas tank straps) before with good results.
