Parts Car no title Maryland

Post by mschel »

Hi, I am looking at a parts car in VA with lost title. I ran the vin through the stolen car sites and nothing comes up. I also looked on the registry here.

Most other history report sites don't go back past early 80s.

Has anyone in MD specifically gone through the process of using one of those lost title services and had success? It looks like they somehow "title" it in Vermont or other non title states.

Honestly I don't really need the title since mostly just pulling parts from it. But when I am done would prefer to have a title to pass on whatever is left to another person that maybe needs a frame with title etc. Also to ensure no shady history on the car. But not looking to spend a ton on the process.

thanks.

My understanding is they bought with no title and hopefully they at least have a bill of sale from the previous owner. I will get a bill of sale from them but probably not have any other paperwork to work with.
