Re: Japco body
Spent WAY tooo much time reviewing the Youtube videos by people "WHO HAVE a CLUE"" , for motivation.
Many hours of labor to get the orignal metal fenders as "perfect" as possible.
Stunk up the garage ( and house) from the "tooling gel coat" and the multiple layers of fiberglass.
Despite the multiple coats of mold release wax and PVA coatings, i had mechanical "locks" which drove my nutz.
The fiberglass was then cut away and we are back to square one.

Re: Japco body 2ndAttemp
Got the fenders repaired from my hacking the the first attempted fiberglass debacle.
Got the holes plugged up with clay and now pondering whether to attempt to make a one piece plug mold or go for a multi part mold .
The impending rain stopped the progress for this weekend

Re: Japco body
These photos are not from a JAPCO kit. They are photos of my attempt to make a fiber glass plug mold to than make fenders from.
Due to health and family events, I’m ashamed that the mold making progress has been in a holding pattern for a while

Re: Japco body
Understood and I should have specified - I was referring to the original post by RCMike. Coincidentally, your photos drive home how time & labor intensive this stuff is (great effort BTW) and I'm more than happy to pay whatever premium is demanded by the producer . Anyway, I'm sorry to hear about your difficulties, best of luck to you going forward.RustyBucket wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 1:06 pm These photos are not from a JAPCO kit.
