beginning my 68 restoration

I have picked up my 68 2000 back around 1980 and drove it around Southern Cal for about 5 years until I moved to Texas. I had to leave it behind with my younger brother for a while until he decided to bring it out to me in the winter of 84. He drove to El Paso and parked to sleep for a while when he woke the temp had dropped, when he started it the oil pump drive gear sheared. I got a call that he was stranded and could I come with trailer and pick him up. Needless to say the car has sat all this time, No time and little money to put into the car.
Time now, I am retired and have the time and some money.
Over the years I removed the dash and interior and boxed all of it up, removed the engine and transmission. I recently built the body stand and just yesterday I separated the body from the frame after building the body holding jig.
Rolled the frame out and ready to start. I am going to knock the easy dirt off the frame and I think I will begin by putting some of the parts back on the frame just to take an inventory and to reacquaint myself with the various parts.
I am certainty open to all suggestions. Thank you for you time and suggestions, my journey begins.

Congratulations! Are you familiar with rust converters? Have you removed the wheel cylinders and drained the water out yet?

Wow, looks very similar to my memories from 36 years ago, down to the silver color! Hard to fully tell, but it looks like the frame is in good shape. The rust will sand blast off. Any rust through on the cap? How's the rest of the body?
Regarding the engine... are you saying that it has a broken jack shaft? Have you had it apart yet? I'm curious as to what actually failed.
