Hi Curtis,Curtis wrote: Thu Jul 22, 2021 4:04 pm Looks suspiciously like a 1500 crank. I just dropped mine off at the machine shop so can't look now. I'm building a 1.8l.
And if it is do you want to sell it?
Thanks Curtis, it is exactly one inch longer than my 1600 crank, and weighs 47 lbs... but I don't know what my 1600 crank weighs, and I'm 531 miles away from both... so don't know if that's heavy or not... I'm relying on friends and picsCurtis wrote: Thu Jul 22, 2021 8:34 pm Yes. 5 main. If it is an inch longer than a 1600 and heavier it's probably a 2000. 2000 will have two key way slots on it.
Thanks Dave. Your opinion is as strong as it gets, so I'm very hopeful.
I did some medium-strength Googling, and didn't find anything definitive, only possible discrepancies... and a 2011 post here on 311s asking the same question.Curtis wrote: Thu Jul 22, 2021 11:17 pm If there's one thing that seems to hard to figure it's crank part numbers. Trying to look them up and all different and superseded numbers.
Now that's what I'm talking about! Some positive identification clue.Mike Unger wrote: Fri Jul 23, 2021 9:33 am It's a U-20 crank. You can easily tell by the 12 bolt holes in the flywheel flange.
Gosh, if only I knew your address, the crank would already be on it's way!theunz wrote: Fri Jul 23, 2021 11:50 am Option 1 sell it
Option 2 keep it for a spare
Option 3 send it to me and I’ll keep it for a spare
If you are going to sell it you should have it checked and measured by a machine shop first.
