pics of painted valve covers (SPL's)

With some down time awaiting parts I have started on some cosmetic projects to keep myself busy. I am currently polishing the valve cover and deciding how much of it I might paint. I read Pjackb's great tutorial on painting his dash pots for the technical aspects and now need to decide on a paint scheme. Do I just paint the rectangular DATSUN area, or include the ribbed section also. The raised letters and ribs will be sanded to reveal the polished aluminum. Any photos out there of members painted valve cover ideas?

Wow Alvin. That's an impressive collection of pics in response to my request. Thank you. I agree with Ray B.The polished and red one on the green car is exactly what I had pictured doing to mine. I'll post a pic when its complete.

Good example of what not to do. It was a free 67.5 engine that followed me home last year. Garth, did you once own a 1600?...lol

What’s really cool is overhead cam 1600, it’s the first one I’ve ever seen. Or is it a U20 installed in an SPL?

Oops! I misread the topic. It's a 2 liter in a SRL.

On my first roadster almost 30 years ago, I polished every piece of aluminum under the hood. Its been just long enough since then for me to have forgotten what a true royal pain in the @$$ that process is. On the other hand, I got nothing but time.
Thanks folks for the pics submitted. It made the design choice easier to visualize. I think I hear some dash pots calling my name.

Ah heck, thought I'd come up with something unique. That's a nice clean engine bay. Working on getting mine there. Looks like he even polished the altenator. I did that on my 68 2000, Since my current one was painted by the shop that rebuilt it, Im not sure I wanna go to those lengths. I guess it depends on how long I spend avoiding the Covid. Might just get that bored.
