Sad news indeed!
I met Karl at Shasta on our respective first trips. He was very engaging and excited to meet some of the 311s characters and their cars particularly those with non-standard, out of the box variation. No fear about driving across the country nor undertaking a challenging engine swap.
The community lost a good one.
Condolences to his family and garage mates!
