Congrats on the tuning You are smart to do the research, lots of info when using the Tech Wiki and Search function. But then I see you are from Smartsville, CA, so makes sense

Sadly-Linda has passed away 2022. She was the 311's den mother and drove the first Rare-Parts ball joint project. RIP.

Hello all!
It has been quiet a while since I have posted any updates here. My wife and I bought our first house right after I fried the piston in cyl 3. So needless to say my Fairlady has been in the garage not going anywhere. It has been a painful year but I finally blew the dust off her and drove her down to have a new friend look at the extent of the damage. Turns out the car had a set of high compression positions installed, hence the intermittent pinging, well one of them detonated and lost most all of the compression, only holding 15 % from the leakdown test.
So the new set of flattops just arrived, and I just ordered up some gaskets, with any luck I should get this beauty back on the road here in the next few weeks!
Hope all is well, until next time happy roadstering!!

This thread is really lacking pictures... we love pics
It might also be time to move this to the members rides section instead of introductions
PS Did you ever order those gaskets for the rad cap? I wanted to order one using your link but it looks like I will have to buy 10 of them haha

Thanks for the replies, you are right about the pictures! I took a few this morning which I will include.
I ended up just ordering the gasket from dean, and it worked famously. That was my initial plan to buy the ten, but I figured if they did not work properly, I would regret the extra 9!
The gaskets and cam position locking pin should arrive today from Paul, and with any luck one day early next week I will swap the pistons:)
Regards,
Chris
