wire wheels

Post by DatsunMax »

How does a Datsun roadster look in Wire wheels? Anyone? Too British? I want to have mine in Wire wheels.

Personal taste, but for some reason it looks wrong to me. As wrong as a set of 5 slots on an MG or TR6

My roadster came with truspokes. IMHO it really doesn't look right. I thought about doing it for a while but fortunately my tru spokes are rusty and I don't feel like cleaning them up.

The red car looks awesome. A word of caution though. True wire wheels - not truspoke wheels - those are welded iirc - can be a righteous bitch to keep true and air in the tires. I put some Dayton chrome/stainless wire wheels on the Jaguar XJ6 that I used to have - they looked FANTASTIC! BUT I went through inner tubes on a regular basis. I had to agree to waivers because no one wants to put tires on them - too many hamfisted tire jockeys have bent wheels.
