Wiring Question ?

Hi ! I need some help ! The wiring out of the firewall on a 1969 SPL 311 1600 roadster that is part of the harness which goes to the coil,ballast resister and distributor there is a wire with a reddish orange strip on it ! Where if anywhere should this wire go ? I would feel better knowing if it's important or not ? HELP !!! THANKS !!! DON !!!!
