RIP Michael Poorboy

Post by RC240z »

Michael passed away suddenly from a heart attack, he was 55.

According to news reports he was driving alone at the time and experienced a medical emergency which caused him to leave the road and crash the van he was driving at the time. He was alone and the accident was a single vehicle incident. he was found unconscious, but passed away a short time later.

I saw several notices this morning on FaceBook indicating that Michael had passed. Knowing he was a friend to several on the 311s list, I felt compelled to add the following:

Michael was a friend to racers, and crewed for several of his friends in the Pacific Northwest. We spoke about road racing although I understand that he enjoyed both drag and road racing. I know that Michael raced his roadster some, although I personally do not know all the details, he had a beautiful silver flared roadster that graced the pages of this BB, and was a very nice person whom I enjoyed bench racing with on more than one occasion.

My condolences to his family with his untimely passing.

God Speed Michael, Rest in Peace.

Wow, life is fragile, and you never know when your time is up. I've seen Michael's name here many times though I don't honestly know if I have ever spoken or conversed with him. My condolences to family and friends as well. May the Love he showed to others continue to live through them as they share it with whom ever they come across.

Shocked and saddened to hear this. I just saw him last week as he does maintenance and repairs on homes in my neighborhood. He will be sorely missed.
