Libre offset question

Post by seabiscuit »

Can you tell the offset of AR libres by the stamping on the wheel or do you have to measure them?

I looked at my Libre wheels and could not fine anything that indicated the offset....I think you need to measure them.

What exactly would that measurement be? And from where to where? The outer edge of the inside lip to the flat where the wheel bolts up? I don't get how the offset is calculated.

RFR, you can check out how to measure offset in the FAQ's of the Wiki tech section of wheels.

Phil,
do your libre's have an AR stamp? the wheels i'm looking at have "US Trans Am" stamp. just checking to see if they're real AR's.

Mine have "American Racing Equipment" written on the inside in letters ~3/4" high 14" long....can't miss them. They also have a rib inside the each spoke.

US Trans Am are NOT American Racing Libre wheels...Also be careful about the bolt pattern.
Note that they are missing the rib inside the spoke.
