14X7 Western "Superlites"

Post by thubbard »

I know the question has probably been asked and answered but I have a nice set of 14X7 0 offset Western Superlites. Is there a safe way to make these wheels work on a '68 2000?

Thanks,

Tim

They should fit on the front with 185x60s
The rears are going to be close on the outside (rub on stock fenders) ~.5-1.0 inches.
There is enough flexibility to roll the rear fenders to fit....IIRC, Will said his rolled rear fenders will fit 14 x 7 0 offset with 225 tires.

my 66 have 14x7 Western Minilite.
I am currently running 195/65/14, Front is fine but the back a slight rub. I am changing my tires to 185/60/14 soon.

Houston we got a problem,,

Just install a comp spring in front, now I need new tires and rims.
Front tires is rubbing on big bumps, also my 66 have later model fenders and still don't help.

Plan B soon.

did you try the 185/60 tires?
that's huge decrease in sidewall/bulge and may gain you some clearance!

I'll give it a shot since I have 2 185/60/14 lying around.

185/60/14 perfect, no rubbing, hugs the road. AWESOME.
It seems my front is still a little high with the comp spring though.

The springs will likely settle a little bit over time...
