brakes leaking

Post by robert »

:( Have put brakes back on a 67 spl311 1600 and they leak badly. New pads, lines, hoses and rubber kits. The pistons are pittted and so our the inside around edges. Tried to clean to no avail...Will this prevent proper seal and cause leaks? Novice at best, but trying to restore..thanks bob ballinger

Bob,

Definitely a problem. You need to either get the old caliper pistons resleeved or buy new ones. Once that are pitted they are pretty useless. Most of the vendors carry new ones. I have never had any resleeved. Good luck!
