Na... haven't started on the headers. My focus has been on the IRS. I'm actually going to be mocking with stock stamped steel units so I can cut and weld as necessary. I've got basically one shot to make them go down a small hole between the firewall and the back of the heads. Otherwise I might have to go thru the fender well. Either way, I'm hoping to have them exit the rear of the car and not out the side. Trying hard to make as little modifications to the body as possible. So we will just have to see... but not till after Solvang.

Yeah... that type would require I go thru the inner wheel wells, which I'm trying to avoid if possible. I've got a few more options to explore before I resort to that.

I was thinking something more along the lines of this MB E55 style header. Single large free flowing type... with minimal space usage.

is it possible to run a true dual exhaust through frame all the way out past gas tank so it looks stock, but two megaphones instead of one?

You might need to "thin" the fuel tank or move it left.

Both, I think are doable.

If you don't use resonators, you can move the tank to the center, and should just have enough space to run a pipe on each side.

kind of like the MGB conversions and "centered" gas tanks:
http://www.britishv8.org/MG/SteveLagoy.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://www.britishv8.org/mg/kenbiermann.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

does the IRS make exhaust routing more/less complicated? Will stock tank/location work with IRS?

The exhaust routing might be a tad bit more complicated since you have more moving components out at the wheel side. But on the flip side if you can route them towards the center, the diff itself will be stationary. Ill be sure to take lots of pictures. The way I have it planned at this point the stock fuel tank will stay where it is.

dream build…
i will try to restrain my comments but I might sound like this is being built for me :D
i agree if it's not too low you could actually have a cleaner routing of exhaust

I keep thinking a fuel tank at the front of the trunk with a top fill like a TR6 would be very cool,and pretty damn safe. then drop a well in the trunk for the spare.

If you can't get them to run the way you want, just go with zoomies through the hood! ;-)

Its been a while since I shared anything about this build on this forum. It might just be me, but the social media sites like Facebook seem easier to share and collaborate than these old school message forums... I'm just saying.

And I guess while I'm on the subject of this thread... should I just start one myself about the LS1 build or just keep hijacking this L33 one? I literally have hundreds of pictures of almost each step along the way thus far.... but anyhow

Here are a few pics of the IRS setup in Kaiju. Its not quite finished yet, but you'll get the idea.
